    is a tiered structure of performance based on proven performance levels (greater financial potential)

    • Competition Formats

      • Standard Showcase Format
        • Qualifying (Exempt field only) is to challenge players performance level during tournament competition. To accomplish this we will use BowlU's "Clear the Deck World Ranking" format. This is a continuous scoring format (no set number of frames). Competitor score concludes after their 3rd Open frame or 1 hour of competition time, whichever comes first. Each player is allotted 2 Mulligans per set (To be used at their discretion). Each competitor will bowl a total of 6 sets. (2 sets a day over a 3 day period). There is a prize fund distribution after qualifying and then the The Top 32 bowlers will advance to the Match-Play finals. 
        • Match-Play (Top 32 bowlers from Qualifying) This is a 32 Man Double Elimination Bracket competition. Matches are based on seedings determined during Qualifying. Each match is a race to 2 Sets. Each set is a race to 5 games. Each game uses 9th and 10th frame  Traditional scoring format. 
        • TV Finals - is a televised viewing of the last rounds of competition.

      • 3-Man Baker Team Competition (Standard Showcase Team Competition)
        • Qualifying uses Standard Showcase competition (Clear the Deck)  with a 3-Man Baker format. Top 16 Team advance to Match-Play
        • Match-Play is a 16 team Double Elimination Bracket competition. Matches are based on seedings determined during Qualifying. Each match is a race to 2 sets. Each Set is a race to 5 games (For Team competition we use a match-play record of the 3 players for each game), Each game uses 9th and 10th frame Traditional scoring format
        • TV Finals - is a televised viewing of the last rounds of competition.

      • Traditional Total Pins (Special Events Format)
        • Qualifying is 3 rounds of 10 games per round on 10 different pairs over a 3 day period. Prize fund distribution after qualifying. Cut to the finals is to Top 24.
        • Finalists will bowl 4 rounds of 10 games per round over a 2 day period. All pins carry over.
        • TV Finals is a televised viewing of the last round of competition.

      • Traditional Match-Play (Special Events Format)
        • Qualifying is 2 rounds of 10 games per round (total of 20 games) on 10 different pairs on the first day of competition. There is a prize fund distribution after qualifying. Top 16 advance to Match-Play 
        • Match-Play is Best of 7 Double Elimination Bracket format. over a 4 day period
        • TV Finals is a televised viewing of the last rounds of competition

      • General Outline of the Sport Professional Exempt Field

        Qualifying members of the Exempt Field must maintain a level of performance ability including:

        • Clear the Deck World Ranking format on all Exempt field patterns (17 / 32 / 39 / 43 / 46 / 48.5)
        • The Exempt Field consists of 66 qualifying bowlers. Number of available "exempt spots" is dependent upon the exempt field expiration date. To maintain exemption the player must be within the Top 2/3 (44) of the exempt field points. Any player falling below 2/3 (44th position) after their exemption has expired is required to enter Qualifying competition against the following field
        • Top 20 Sport Professional International qualifying
        • Top 10 Sport Professional National qualifying
        • Remaining spots come from qualifying scores of Clear the Deck World Ranking on Sport Professional patterns (17/32/39/43/46/48.5)
        • Winning a PBA Tour event provides an  exempt tour card for a minimum of two years, with an extra year added for each additional win with a maximum of five years. Winning a Touring Players Championships event, The Tournament of Champions, the World Championships, the US Open, or the USBC Masters Tournament provides a three-year exemption.

        • Sport Professional Teams include all Sport Professional Exempt Field members plus 2 franchise choices, for a total of 5 players. The guidelines for team participation is as follows:

          • All Teams will represent a location to be approved by the Sport Professional Team committee
          • All Teams will be owned and operated by a Team Management staff independent of Sport Professional Team committee and its organization
          • Each Team must stay within the guidelines of Sport Professional Team organizing rules including:
            • qualifying player rules
            • salary cap restrictions
            • tampering rules
            • gambling rules
            • competition rules
          • Each Team must abide by sponsorship rules and fees of Sport Professional Team organization
          • Each Team must abide by Trade and Draft rules of Sport Professional Team organization
          Competition for Sport Professional Team will consist of 22 teams (66 Exempt field players plus 44 ownership choices) Format of competition follows Standard Showcase 3-Man Baker rules and regulations unless special sponsorship tournament is presented and approved by Sport Professional organization.
          The 22 teams will be divided into 5 conferences (3 conferences of 4 and 2 conferences of 5) Each team within a conference will compete against each other team in their conference 5 times during the season. with the conference champion and 2 wild card teams advancing to the playoffs. The team with the best record will receive a bye while 6 other teams enter into a Playoff bracket competition. Where there will be a best of 5 Home and Away competition (2 at the higher seeds home / 2 at the lower seeds home / finals at the higher seeds home if necessary)

          • The recognized organization of Local players, coaches, associates, and administration that participates in the same activities as the Exempt field within the circumstances of their environment. Individual assistance to help with the setup and management of those circumstances will be handled by the Sport Professional Local staff.

The Sport Professional Development program is a guidance program designed to provide that pathway. Including the foundation training they need to shorten the learning curve and continued education from the best of the best.

                    • Sport Professional Associate are those very valuable support groups that connect the icons of our sports with the fans of our sport. The Sport Professional Associate takes the time to learn all of the details of development and participation but for whatever reason can't or chooses not to challenge the Professional ranks. They participate in many professional activities as an associate member so they can share inside information with others who aren't as fortunate as them.
